Focus and Scope

"EAST-WEST STUDIES" is a peer-reviewed Journal of Social Sciences of Tallinn University’s School of Governance, Law and Society. It was established in 2007 and has since published one issue annually. Every published article undergoes a double-blind peer-review process before being accepted for publication. The journal is open for submission for scholars from around the world and all social sciences disciplines; the international editorial board consists of respected academics from Estonian and international universities.

The Journal seeks to contribute to discourses on issues in Law, International Relations, Economics, Sociology, and all related areas. Articles can focus on issues regional to Estonia, or global in scale. We are especially open to articles detailing the interactions between the traditional West and areas often under-analysed in orthodox scholarship. The journal offers original explanations and solutions to theoretical, methodological, and practical problems, contributing to better understanding of challenges facing humankind.
