Inimloetav ja masinloetav: mõistete analüüs [Human-readable and machine-readable: Conceptual analysis]
Abstract
Increase of structured data, motivated by efficiency of machine processing (computing), is a characteristic trend of information society. In Estonian public sector too, a number of IT projects are under way in this direction (transfer to XML languages). However, humans still remain significant if not major users of information. Information has to become both machine-readable and human-readable. This is often hard to achieve and may put a lot of stress on development and use of information systems. A simple model is presented that can help categorise and analyse linguistic phenomena that arise in dynamic co-existence of human and machine readable texts.
Keywords
human readability, machine readability, structured data.
